29 Years!!
Twenty nine Years Ago Today…
We said…
“I do!”
It is a,”Happy Monday”, for me! I hope it is for you too ❤️.
My husband and I give God all the glory for our marriage! God is the central part of this wonderful union. I wholeheartedly believe that God made me for Mike and that he made Mike for me.
We have a wonderful marriage (it’s not perfect, of course)! Do you want to know why that is? One of the main reasons is because we make our marriage the priority above all else here on earth and have been these twenty nine years. We have been very intentional to keep each other first and everything and everyone else comes after that. Our wonderful kids are the very close second! And we keep God as the foundation. Mike, me and God make a great team! And no matter where your marriage stands right now, you can have the same. God designed marriage and He loves and is FOR your marriage.
In Genesis 2:24 God tells us…
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
If God supernaturally makes two into one flesh, then obviously that is the most important human relationship you have here on earth. That is God’s design. Because of this, the order of relationships looks like this…
1~ God
2~Spouse
3~Kids
4~Everything else
When we operate according to God’s design, life is beautiful. Now, there are definitely seasons where some of these things may take a little bit more energy and focus for a time. For example, when your kids are little and it’s crazy busy, if you are starting a new business, or any number of reasons. But the key thing is…always go back to this God ordained order. I promise you, it works every time. It never fails. God’s instructions are the best instructions!
If you are struggling in this area, it’s ok! Pray and ask God to give you grace to put things back in the right order. Never forget the truth that with God, the BEST is always yet to come!
I am celebrating our love all day long (below is a pic of us at the SLU Billiken basketball game just a couple days ago)! We have a dinner date tonight at one of our favorite places. Think of a way you can celebrate your spouse and your love today! Be blessed :).
